12Th Place finish Texas B.A.S.S. Texas Federation Championship, lake
Amistad.
With weights expected to be over the top, the
fishing was not quit up to par. I was really wanting to catch big
swim bait bass, but the swim bait bite was far and few between. The
smaller slower approach was the key. Due to a small front with lots of
lighting and thunder the night before the first day, I opted to make a
long run for quick numbers and a fast limit. I knew the thunder and
lightning would push shallow fish off for the early bit. I had found big
numbers of fish in the canyon areas mostly smaller male. The water went
from shallow to deep very quickly and that would let the fish move back
to shallower water quicker. The one thing I didn't anticipate was the
water mudding up. So the fast limit took a lot longer then in practice
witch left me little time to run back and fish some of the bigger fish I
had found in practice. But I was able to put a five pounder in the boat
with the little time I had there. Needless to say I fished that same
area for the next two days, finishing the tourney with 47.66. Most
of my fish came from 15ft to 20tf of water out off the spawning flats.
Strike king XD6 and wacky rigged Lake Fork Tackle Hyper sticks. Slow
cranking and slow falling wacky worms, backed up with 10lb test
Floro Sunline on both Laguna rods and Shimano core reels. I would
like to thank Century Bass Club for their generosity for giving me a
place to shack up and chill in the evenings. Great bunch of guys and
fishermen...

2nd place finish for Brannon, Texas B.A.S.S.
Federation Northeast regional.
The fishing was much tougher then it had been in
practice. Big rains and a big drop in water temperature from the
day before had move fish that were holding in pre-spawn areas to deeper
water to suspend, do to high skies on tournament day. Suspended bass are
always the toughest to catch. All I can say is" patients". As the
water began to warm up through-out the day the fish started to move up
as well. So it really was a timing thing. It was a grind, but I
was able to scratch out a five bass limit for 20.65. I caught most of my
fish using a 7.2" laguna medium heavy, a shimano core and 16lb Sunline.

What great way to start the year off and
thanks everyone for all the support. Lets go get em!!!
2012 is here and so is the new fishing season...
I'm very excited for this new year and what it will
bring. While 2011 wasn't one of my proudest years, it was a great
year in making new allies and friends, as well as having the opportunity
to fish some premier lakes. Looking forward 2012 will be a fresh new
start and I'm stoked to dig in. Thanks for supporting me and this team.
I can promise there will be no lack of effort. I hope to see you very
soon...
Merry Christmas and happy holidays from my family to
yours!!!!
Looking forward to the 2012 season. Hope to see you
there...
Bassmaster Open Series.
A tore
up boat at Erie and a dismembered lower unit at the Arkansas river left
a yarning taste in my mouth to get back on the water as fast as I can
and Table Rock is just what the Doctor ordered. I have spent a lot
of time at The rock this year and feel that it will be my best chance to
make something out this year. Although the cancelation back in may, due
to rain drenching down pours, a lake rising as fast as Iv ever seen it
and historical tornado out brake, I was still able to learn a great
deal. I was able to return a month later for the Federation Regional
championship and had the opportunity to spend another week there.
The lake should be turning over and typically the fishing gets though,
but Table Rock is a fish factory, so I'm hoping it will be a fun trip.
My wife and team mate will be attending this event and I'm very exited
to have her along this trip.
Lake Erie B.A.S.S. northern series
I don't think I

Lake Lewisville Open
series is over and out...
Thank the lord that's over with. What a grind without
reward that was. I don't really feel too bad, facing cold fronts and
cold water everyone struggled to just catch anything. I know in
practice that it was going to be very tough so I turned to my trusty
friend the drop shot and a Robo worm. I had great successes
catching 13.5" fish but keepers just didn't find their way in my Skeeter.
I was greatful to have had awesome co-anglers both days, really good
guys. Kind of a slow start this year it seems, but I'm certain that its
going to bust lose soon. Congrats to Mark Tucker for a close win,
you earned that one.
So lets get ready for Lake Norman NC. and put this
one to rest.
First B.A.S.S. Open Series Is in the Rearview Mirror
ToHo No Go!!!
Well it was a great visit to Lake Toho in Kissimmee
Fl. The tournament how ever was not so good. Brannon struggled in
practice, knowing the bit was going to be either a spawning bit in the
shallows or a post-spawn bit on outer edge shell beds. With the
weather not quit cooperating, going from warm and sunny to cold and
rainy made it difficult to stay head of the fish pattern.
Brannon( I felt like I was either in front
of the bass or behind em. The sun would come out and warm the water up
and as soon as I felt like I was in position for bass to move up it
would cool off and start raining. The guys that new where the
shell beds were had the advantage cause the weather didn't effect the
fish as much in their movement patterns. This event was just not ment to
be...
Congratulations to Gerald Swindle first win ever with
Bassmaster. 80.13lb was his three day total.
So We will lick our wounds and get geared up for
Lewisville in Dallas Tx. I have fished there a lot in the past so
hopfully it will be a great tourny.
WELL THE 2011 SEASON IS FINALY HERE!
First stop ToHoho ho....
The 2011 season is here. I'm stoke
to have such a awesome team behind me as well as my new title sponsor
Noco Genius
wicked smart chargers, I can't
wait to get this show on the road. First up Lake Toho In Kissimmee
Fl. I love Florida fishing and January can produce some
outstanding weights. It has been up and down winter so far and I expect
the weather is going to play a major major part at this event. Either
way I'm looking forward to a great tournament. I will have a full plate
this year with all the Open Series and the state Federation events as
well as the regional events. We will be filming for the new television
program Big Bass Battle, that I'm sure will be a blast. So be looking
for that on VS. channel.
I
would like to thank each and everyone of you that support me, it really
means the world to me and our team of sponsors.
Brannon Wins
the Northeast Texas B.A.S.S. Federation Championship on Lake Texoma!!!

"Wow" what a great way to end the Federation season,
not only a regional win, Angler of The Year but add a Championship win
as well. It was a tough tournament with a 13.30 for a two day
total that surely proved bites were hard to come by. Concentrating
on deep rock ledges in the morning, with a square lip crank bait in a
copper green shad pattern. Switching to Runnin-n-gunnin, pitching
Lake fork Tackle Hyper Sticks, rigged wacky with a nail weight and Spit
n Fire jig's Shacky head, rigged with a berkley shacky worm in
watermelon seed. Targeting isolated docks on bare sandy banks as the day
grew hotter, Brannon was able to claw his way to a championship win.
Rods of choice Laguna's small crank special and the Laguna 7ft power
finesse both lined with 15lb Lake fork Tackle Floro Hybrid Pro.
I really owe this season to my wife and kids, they
are without a doubt my inspiration. My wife is a key part of this team
and it would be very hard without her. Also to the great team of
sponsors that put their belief and support in me. Every name and logo
you read, whether on my jersey, boat and truck, or on this web page are
not just names and products that I throw around. They are apart of
my family and I believe not just in the product they supply and build,
but in the people who are behind the names and logos. From the
bottom of my heart thank you. Noco Genius wicked

The Secret Tactics to The Successes.
I have fish a lot of bait in the industry and I
really owe this years successes to two baits and both happen to come
from one company, Lake Fork Tackle.. Now I know what your saying,
" heck he's sponsored by Lake fork of course he's going say that".
One thing I have always said is if I do well I will tell. So here
it is. Earlier this year Lake fork came out with a jem of a bait
called The Hyper Stick, Yep the Hyper Stick . This bait rigged
right is off the chain and if you fish it like I tell ya you'll see.
I rig this bait upside down with the hook Texas rigged in the tapered
end with a #3 wide gap hook and a nail weight in the other end. This
will give the bait a real erratic action when it falls through the water
column. Now the trick to this is when you pitch this bait out let it
fall, do not lose contact with the bait so you don't miss a bit on the
fall and do not move the bait as it falls. Once the bait hits the
bottom count to 5 and give it a twitch and let it settle, (most of the
strikes will be either on the fall or after it sets for a bit and you
give that little twitch) count to 3 if there is nothing burn it back to
the boat and repeat. I like to call it rinse and repeat. This the
key, specially on boat docks. If you skip cast that bait as far back as
you can and try this you will catch those bass that others missed.
The other bait that I have gotten so much trust in is the Lake Fork
Tackle Live Magic Shad. This bait has been around for awhile but I
have found a new way to use utilize it. If you like throwing a
spinner bait then you'll love this. Any time you would use a
spinner bait try throwing the Live Magic Shad instead or if you want to
throw frog try throwing that bait. Yes a Frog. If you will
throw this bait over topped out grass shaking the rod tip to add action
as you drag it a crossed the the top the grass, as soon as it hits the
edge be ready to get your arm ripped off. This tactic has been awesome
for me. Now If your throwing it in place of a spinner bait, throw
it just like you would that spinner bait, grass edges, rip rap, flooded
timber etc. The key is wind always look for the wind blown banks.
Just a steady retrieve just like the spinner bait. The point of a
spinner bait is to create vibration and shad imitation, so why not do it
with a shad. Makes perfect sense to me. Just make sure you
have a small variety of Lake Fork tackle weighted hooks so you
have the right weight for the wind or speed of the retrieve you need.
Well there you have it pretty cut and dry. I hope that you try this and
like anything else give it a chance to work I promise you will put more
bass in the boat. I would like to know what you think so hit me up
on face book if ya like.. Thank you for stopping by hope to see ya
on the water
Longview, Toyota, Spit n Fire Jig Co,
Topwater Clothing Co, Lake Fork Tackle Co, and Big Daddys Car Stereo.
Thank you so much for your support and for giving me the
chance, could not do this without you.. Thank you to all the great
people I have had the opportunity to share the lake with over the years,
I have learned a lot from yall.
Angler of the Year title is a very important to me
and I look forward to ...

Topwater Clothing and Bass Pro Brannon Long
team up for a trend setting future.
Congrats to Topwater
Clothing and Brannon long for a trend setting sponsorship that will
surely make Brannon on his worst days at least look like he know what he
is doing, lol. Topwater clothing is a new, fast growing company
that is on the cutting edge of style and fashion in the fishing
industry. The proud people at Topwater Clothing have take fishing
fashion and made it more mainstream for the fisherman that are not only
serious about their sport but want to look it as well. Brannon is
very excited about the new team mate and is looking forward to spreading
the word of Topwater Clothing.
Brannon-
I really want people to take the
time and go check out these fresh new treads.(
Topwaterclothing.com )I'm stoke
to know that finally a company is putting out clothing that I would wear
any time not just on the water and I dont feel like I just got off the
boat haha. no pun intended. I have had the opportunity to meet and
really get to know the owner of Topwater Clothing and can say, they
really know what time it is, when it comes to quality and customer
service. So hit'em up, I'm sure you will be impressed I know I was. I
must say I'm super glad to be apart of such a driven company and look so

Lake Fork Tackles FluoroHybrid Pro...BAD
TO THE BONE!
If you could take something from
all the awesome high performance fishing lines and make one, you would
indeed have one bad to the bone line. The staff at Lake Fork
tackle LFT lures.com have done just that! Combining all the
ingredients into one super line, If you will. FHP has everything
that you look for in a high-end line and then some. The new
Fluorohybrid Pro is a hybrid line made with the technology that infuses
the line ingredients together rather then coating the outside, making it
more sensitive and as tough as high quality mono without all that
stretch. The FHP or Fluorohybrid Pro has the refraction to
give it the ability to be virtually invisible in clear water. Also the
the abrasion resistance is absolutely unbelievable when it comes to
working those big fish in waters with lots of obstacles. The
Fluorohybrid Pro features super smooth cast ability and very low memory.
So we have talked about what this new line has to offer so lets be real
world for a minute, what's the ups and downs. Being a hybrid line you
will lose a very minuet bit of sensitivity over 100% fluorocarbon but
you will gain strength and abrasion resistance. Also I would
highly recommend switching to the Double San Diego Jam Knot instead of
the Palomar knot. Its an easy knot to learn and the Fluorohybrid Pro
like this knot better. You can go to youtube.com and type in Double
San Diego Jam Knot and get all kinds of tips on how to tie this
knot. Honestly that's really all, as far as any down differences.
Lake Fork Tackle has spent the time and money to make an unbelievable
fishing line and if this line is not on your reels then your not real
serious about your tackle and you are probably happy missing a fish or
two or braking off the one that you say cost you the tournament. Either
way you owe it to yourself to use the best. To learn more about
the FHP or any of the Parallelium Lines go to LFTlures.com and pick up a
spool or Email me at
Brannon.long@gmail.com I promise you will be impressed.
If you think this line is bad to the
bone a little birdie told me that Lake Fork Tackle is possibly working
on a 100% Fluorocarbon and a braid, humm... guess we'll have to wait and
see....

24.58lb
wins Northeast B.A.S.S. Federation..
A lake Fork Tackle Hyper freak and a
Lake Fork Hyper stick was the only two baits Brannon needed to bring
home the top title at Lake brandy Branch this passed weekend.
Brannon throw a hyper worm early, till the sun got high to 5
keepers and as the day progressed Brannon switched to his Laguna
Flipping stick and Lake Fork Tackle Hyper Freak to cull his way to an
awesome sack of 24.58. Brannon also was able to snag a
2nd Place finish at Lake Palestine with the
Northeast B.A.S.S. Federation just under 18lbs and now sits in first
Place for the Angler of the Year race. He owes that 2nd to the
Spit n Fire Jigs
Shaky Head and his Skeeter boat to get him in the stump feild water he
was fishing..
Brannon- I am so stoked
about the last three tournaments. I know it sounds like I am
throwing the Lake Fork Tackle and The Spit n fire Jigs bait name around
a lot but its the flat-out truth I have just narrowed my confident baits
down and those are my main choices. Thanks to everyone who is apart of
my successes and I hope to be Thanking everyone again soon..
You can halla at me via face book to find out more about my winning
patters. I would be glad talk about it.

A win
in the bag for Brannon with Century Bass..
Brannon
dead sticked a Lake Fork Hyper Stick to smack a 19.04
five fish limit at Brandy Branch over the past
weekend. Keying on post and pre-spawn areas in about 10 to 15 foot
of water. He also back it up with a 1\2 0z Spit n Fire Jig to boat
one off his bigger Keepers . Brannon used a 7.2' foot Laguna
pitchen stick heavy medium with a 7.2.1 Shimano Core on 20lb Lake Fork
Tackle Floro Hybrid pro line.. It was a tough day the adjustment
was to make several runs to key spots until the fish moved up from
deeper water to feed on shad . It was all about timing. Thanks to my
wife and sponsors and everyone who is apart of making the dream of fish
possible. Thanks to Century Bass for being the foundation of my fishing
career...

Lake Fork Tackle Live Magic Shad..
Now is the time to be
stocking up on LFT Live Magic Shad and weighted hooks. Pre-spawn
is when I get the fever to be on the water swingen in big betty bass and
there's no better way to do that then slingen a Live Magic shad.
Slow rolling these swim style baits anywhere bass are holding in areas
near spawning flats is deadly. But areas can be anywhere from 6ft of
water to 30ft of water depending on the body of water your fishing, so
it is important to have the right weight to get the bait down in
front of these monsters. That's why Lake Fork tackle has developed
the perfect weighted hook system that will maximize the productivity of
the Live Magic Shad swim bait. To learn more about the Live
Magic Shad and its hook system feel free to go to LFTlures.com or call
and ask anyone of the knowledgeable staff at at Lake Fork Tackle I'm
sure they will guide you in the right direction.

YEESS!! that is me!!
I would like to thank all the awesome people
at Skeeter for letting me be apart of something so very special. I had
the honor of participating in the release of the new Skeeter FX. Not
only did I get to get behind the wheel of that bad boy but I also had
the pleasure of filming a commercial and photo shot with Todd
Faircloth and kelly Jordon. So If you take a gander at the new Bass
Master, Bass times and the cover of the 2010 Skeeter catalog etc, you
will find me clippen along about 75mph in the new Skeeter Fx add.
Lots of fun. Thanks again.

Lake Fork Tackle's new release, Hyper Stick, and the new weight and
hook system for wacky rigging
I’m so stoked! Lake Fork Tackle has really knocked this set up out of
the park with the Hyper
Stick. Along with its trend setting weight and hook design, the
Hyper Stick has more
big bass attracting action then any other stick bait on the market
period, as well as a variety of colors that will meet any of your hatch
matching needs. This set up will
catch more bass, saving time, and allow you to fish the same bait
longer. Check’em out at
